Our Tutors
We rigorously screen all prospective educators to give you peace of mind
Background
LAA’s tutors are all university and accredited drama school graduates, professional educators and specialists in their fields.
We rigorously screen prospective tutors to ensure all successful applicants have:
- an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check;
- excellent communication skills;
- an undergraduate degree as a minimum;
- a first class honours degrees and distinctions in master’s degrees in most cases;
- relevant teaching experience, which is often extensive;
- adaptability and a proficiency in tailoring lessons to each individual student.
- coaching and workshop experience.

Training
Each new tutor must undergo LAA’s training course and demonstrate their ability to deliver lessons to the high standards we demand. Tutors are expected to know the subject curriculum intimately and to keep themselves updated with the latest educational and professional developments. The LAA Newsletter, sent monthly to our tutors, keeps them abreast of the latest news, reforms and statistics.
